Born in America’s grunge capital of Seattle, Washington, Michael Lantz has been an avid follower of music since a young age when he was exposed to The Beatles, Paul Simon, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience on family road trips. Growing up music continued to play a prominent role in his life; he played clarinet and tenor saxophone from fourth grade through his freshman year of high school as part of the concert band and jazz band. Since putting down the woodwind instruments, he has continued to play guitar as a hobby. After moving from Seattle to New York in 2013, Michael took up a job with a popular Music PR & MGMT. company, where he worked with artists including Yoko Ono, Guided By Voices, Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark, and more. He’s since left working in music, but still enjoys writing about it, attending shows, and discovering new acts to follow.
